My name's Andi Farr — I'm a freelance graphic and web designer, and semiBad is my personal site. I live with my lovely girlfriend Kathryn in the centre of Newcastle, although I originally hail from Milton Keynes.
I graduated in 2006 from the Cumbria Institute of the Arts with a degree in graphic design. Following college I spent a couple of years working in Milton Keynes before packing up and moving to the North East. I'm currently available for freelance work and collaborative projects (usual lead time is around three weeks) — please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to work together. I could probably be convinced to take a permanent role in the right North-east studio, too — if you're interested, you can take a look at my CV and my online portfolio.
Outside of work I spend most of my time cooking, eating, or thinking about one of those things. I 'organise' The Geekest Drink, a roughly-monthly geek get-together in one of Newcastle's amazing pubs. I play poker enthusiastically, but not well.
I'm always interested in working on cool stuff with excellent people, so if you have a collaborative project you want me to help with, just give me a shout. In fact, feel free to get in touch about anything you like — I'm actually ten kinds of nice when you get to know me.
Thanks for taking the time to read semiBad — I hope you find something you like.
The name semiBad means nothing in particular — it sounded exactly how I thought a domain name should. Thanks to the pervasive pseudonymic influence of Twitter, I now occasionally get called this in pubs by people who have been to my house – this wasn't something I realised would happen when I originally bought the domain.
This is semiBad four, put together in February 2011. Despite being the first major rebuild of the site since launch (adding lots of new functionality, and some nice HTML5 / responsive design hotness), the design is approximately 74% more old-school than the previous iteration.
